expectations
Remember the first time you received a present? the first time you fall in love? the first time you tasted something wonderful? The lower the expectation for things we have, the happier we tend to get. As expectations grows, we are harder and harder to please. Sometimes, we have to ignore the arbitrary expectations we set, and use our heart to experience things. It is only then, we can truly experience the true joy and excitement.

appreciation
I've always think that I am a lucky person. Having lots of great friends, wonderful family and countless good opportunities. Sometimes we just don't realize how lucky we are and forget to appreciate. While we don't have to constantly remind ourselves how fortune we are, but when we feel down or feel like complaining about our misfortunes, why don't we take a moment to think about the things we own and the people that are constantly behind us. Instead of always complaining about what we don't have, why not concentrate about what we have and what we can do. Things will not always go the way we wanted to, so it is alright to let it go. Because we can still still hold on to what we have.

Moving on
It takes time to know someone, and it also takes time to forget about someone. I realized that we are too different, no matter how hard I try, how strong I wish, you will not become the person I hoped for. Perhaps we will never really know each other, but for me, I was glad to understand that you are not what I am looking for. Despite our common interest, our common background, I always feel there is this virtual barrier that is stopping me from knowing the real you. Maybe just like you said, I don't know how to please you; maybe I am not the right person for you, maybe I am asking too much from you. I am glad to have met you so that I understand myself more and sorry for anything I said that might have hurt you, I didn't really mean it.
I have decided to move on. Never is a strong word, I hope the next time we see each other, we both found our happiness.

virtual timeline
I like to give myself virtual timetable from time to time. What I mean is, I like to set arbitrary time to do certain things; to call a friend, to ask someone out, or to just message someone. I tend to think a lot before I contact other people; are they busy? would they get annoyed by my phone call? Is this really a good time to call/message someone? It seems as if I am using my politeness as an excuse to create a distance with other people. Should I not care about what other people might think, and act out what I really want from time to time?

train ride
Life is like a train ride. Some are always with us, but we seldom notice their existence; some are like comets in the sky, shining people around them but soon to disappear; some we enjoy riding with until the final destination.
Which type of passenger are you? Is your train ride full of people that come and go, or full of interesting characters that cherish the ride with you?
I believe that it's more than coincidence that others abroad our train ride, we should get to know them better, enjoy our time with them, learn from them, even if they might took off anytime.
May you always ride with pleasant memory and lovable people until the final station.

achieving goals
I've always believe human can achieve anything, once we put our mind into it. Because what's between us and our goal is only our mind. We are often motivated by the Olympic athlete's stunning record, the physicists' discovery on new particles, the artists' astonishing new creations. But recently, I discovered that some things in the world are not achievable, or rather, in the process of achieving it, we might lose things we cherish the most.
When we are in the process of achieving our goals, do we sometimes stop and think, or do we simply going forward blindly, hoping the end result would make up for the negatives we endured. Shouldn't the process be fulfilling and satisfying as well?
What would you feel if you reach the top of the mountain just to realize how lonely you really are?
After all, we might not always achieve the goals we set, but we should always grow while doing it.

change
We are capable of changes, with enough effort and determination. Is it worthwhile to become a different person just because someone want us to? Do we change to satisfy others but lose ourselves in the process?
